Large clean room
Public areas scruffy and not very clean. Staff seemed untrained and were rude.

Goedkoop hotel. Lekker! Een pottery vlak bij if you're into that.

Right around corner from Chateau Chenonceau, you can walk down the lane (driveway or through the woods next to car park to front door of chateau). Larger bathroom, with bidet. Moderate priced dinner entrees in lovely in or outdoor cafe. Helpful staff.
limited menu items, but, all fairly good that we tried. Shower had no curtain and difficult to get in and out of tub to wash hair and not get water on the floor. the place needs updating, they have WiFi, but it is difficult to find spaces in hostel/hotel that have a strong signal. The upstairs lounge in the main building has no comfortable seating and old stuffed animals and dried flower arrangements that have been their since the 1970's! They need to improve their mattresses and bedding. No airconditioning; but cool at night if you open a window; watch out for birds and bats, especially bugs coming in.

The location is excellent, rooms are rustic and the ensuite bathroom had a small bath with shower but no shower screen. The rooms and the bathroom were spotless. We enjoyed our stay and ate at the hoten on two evenings. The food was ok but not French cuisine. The car park was secure and locked at night.
Food ok but not excellent.

Comfortable bed and good food in restaurant. Bidet in bathroom.
Unfortunately the very noisy bin lorry arrived at 6am. (Not the hotel's fault) Bath very small but made up for by good shower. (But needed a shower curtain.)

The gardens were very beautiful, particularly liked to hear the running water at night. The position of the hotel could not be better for the chateau. Car parking facilities were fine. Very pleasant and relaxing dining room.
Having to drag suit cases up to room - assistance would have been appreciated.

Near the chateau was only redeeming factor. We booked late and it was only hotel with rooms available.
It was very shabby, the evening meal was very poor and the same price as we paid for much better meals in the Loire Valley over the 10 days we were travelling. We realise it is a budget hotel, but is not any cheaper than other 2 star hotels in the region

Lovely setting and garden to dine in. I notified hotel that I would be late and they kept the kitchen open for me past the normal closure time (9PM).

I don't know why it is referred to as a "Hostel", this implies a backpackers place, it's a lovely full blown hotel. Beautiful location next to the Chateau in a lovely village.
Although the food was nice I have had much better in similar establishments in France

The hotel is very clean, our room (number 38) was in an annex out the back of the main building, which contains a restaurant where the food is basic, but cheap and very tasty. The staff are friendly and helpful as they can be, but English language is limited. The hotel could do with an update, but it is VERY clean, so the decor actually makes it quite quaint (in a staying at your Nans house, she hasn't redecorated since 1962 type way). The bed is very comfortable. Chateau Chenonceau is less than a 5 minute walk (as is the railway). I struggle to find any negatives about the hotel apart from the shower curtain and the miserly was you have to buy hot drink sachets.
The bath is not a full sized bath - I'm only 5 foot tall and even I could not stretch my legs out straight. The shower is in the bath, and there is no curtain so the floor gets very wet. There was a kettle in the room, but you had to buy tea, coffee, milk and sugar @ 60 cents each.
